We present to you a delicious recipe for a “Pleated Apple Pie” made with Halta vegetal cream and Riso Scotti Rice Drink, as it got published in the magazine “Ti Na Mageirepso” • 7 sheets of phyllo dough

For the filling: • 3 (600g) red apples • 2/3 cups Walnuts coarsely ground • 1 cup Raisins Golden • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar • 1 tablespoon cinnamon. For spreading on the phyllo: ½ cups vegetal cream (Halta Whipping or Doublé) • ½ cups Brown sugar • 1 tablespoon cinnamon. For the sauce: 2 red apples cleaned and mashed • 1 1/5 cups Rice beverage (Rice Natural or Rice Calcium Riso Scotti) • 5 tablespoons of brown sugar • 1 tablespoon cognac • 3-4 drops of lemon • 1 tablespoon of honey (Bonapi) • 1 teaspoon corn flour, • 2 tablespoons of vegetable cream (Halta Doublé).
In a bowl, mix all the ingredients for the filling. In another bowl, stir the sugar with cinnamon for the spreading on the phyllo sheets. Preheat the oven to 180 ° C. Grease a baking pan well and sprinkle its base with the mixture of sugar and cinnamon. Apply a phyllo sheet on your work station with its narrow side towards you and brush it with a lot of vegetal cream Halta. Then sprinkle it with sugar and cinnamon and scatter some of the filling mixture all over its surface. Then, you begin to press it with your fingers on the 4 edges so the sheet becomes pleated. Carefully take the two edges of the sheet and place it in the pan. Repeat the same process until the phyllo sheets and filling are finished. Pour on the surface of the apple pie with vegetal cream and sprinkle it with the rest of the sugar and cinnamon. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes. At the same time, prepare the sauce: Put the rice drink with the sugar in a saucepan and boil until the sugar dissolves. Then add the mashed apples (about 1 cup), lemon juice, honey and boil for 5 minutes. Strain the mixture and return it to the pot. Add the cognac, the corn flour, which you dissolve in 3 tablespoons of water. Boil for another 3 minutes and add the vegetal cream. Continue mixing for another 3 minutes and remove it from the fire. Serve the apple pie in pieces, sprinkle with powdered sugar and accompany it with apple sauce.
